BNSc Graduating Class of 2013 - Townsville Farewell Lunch

Friday the 25th October was a great day across our campuses, as the graduating class of 2013 for the Bachelor of Nursing Science degree celebrated with School staff.

In Townsville, students and staff ‘ gowned up’ and ‘uniformed up’ for the official photographs to begin the day; plenty of ‘selfies’ were also taken as mobile phones and cameras snapped happy students and staff.  Photographs were followed the inaugural ‘Last Lecture’ by our inspiring Professor Emeritus Barbara Hayes.  The lecture was videoconferenced  between Townsville and Cairns, and our Thursday Island graduate was also able to be present in Cairns.  I’m also aware that Mt Isa Campus holds a wonderful celebration for graduating students, as will happen again this year.

In Townsville we moved on to a terrific barbeque lunch, with Chef Peter Hartin doing the honours at the hot-plate, followed by a huge cake.

Congratulations to all our graduating students, who only have an exam or four to pass and they will be ready for me to recommend their registration with AHPRA.
